NeatReceipts is the easiest way for individuals to organize finances, track expenses, prepare for taxes, and create and send expense reports. The NeatReceipts package includes the proprietary NeatReceipts software along with a lightweight, color, portable scanner and carrying pouch. Using the system is as easy as 1-2-3: just scan, save, and track.

              SmartScan Technology
              Using advanced Optical Character Recognition, SmartScan technology (patent pending) extracts key information from your receipts, such as date, amount, payment method, expense category and vendor. SmartScan really is smart! It actually learns to associate an expense category (such as meals or lodging) to a particular vendor (brands such as Starbucks or Hilton) so you don’t have to type in the information each time. This ensures that your financial records are filed consistently and with minimal effort.

                  Integration with Other Software
                  NeatReceipts can export all extracted and entered information to Intuit QuickBooks, Intuit Quicken, Microsoft Money, and other accounting software (through IIF and CSV formats). In addition, expense reports can be created in a variety of formats, including Microsoft Excel (XLS), Microsoft Word (RTF), Adobe Acrobat (PDF), Microsoft Access and other databases (CSV), Internet Explorer, Mozilla, and Netscape (HTML).

                  Advanced Search Capabilities
                  NeatReceipts has advanced search capabilities that allow you to find expense reports and receipts with any combination of criteria, including time period, project or client information, total amount of expense report, total for any category or expense amount, expense purpose, payment class (billable, reimbursable, paid by company, personal, taxable), or payment type (cash, name of credit card, check).

                  Linking Receipts to Expenses
                  A high resolution image of every receipt is stored right next to its corresponding expense. This makes verification of expense reports a snap. The receipts are stored in a secure digital format, and cannot be edited once scanned in. The IRS accepts our secure digital format and this means you can throw away your tax-related receipts once they are scanned into NeatReceipts.

                  File Folder System
                  This feature helps you organize and manage your receipts and transactions easily and quickly. It’s simple: the open folder is the active folder. The contents of a folder are displayed in the receipt grid when a folder is selected. You also scan into the selected folder. You can create, delete and rename folders to fit the way you work. For instance, if you file your taxes quarterly, you can create folders for each quarter nested into an annual folder. Reviewing your taxes becomes a snap; If you want to view transactions from a specific quarter, simply select that folder. If you would like to review or compare all the transactions for a year, simply select the annual folder and then click the “Include Receipts in Sub Folder” checkbox in the receipt grid.

                  Document Manager
                  Like the receipt manager, the document manager makes scanning and organization of documents simple and effective. You can attach data to a scanned document so it can be easily located days, weeks or months after you have filed it. Use this feature to keep track of and search for articles, business card, faxes, legal documents and much more.
